Every resource play has these same efficiency attributes and life-cycle characteristics. The key to success is in having right and cost effective technology to unlock their economic potential. The innovative development of drilling technologies will be the driving element in the growth for NCE. Our drilling technologies have been a key factor not only in our ability to farm unconventional plays, but in opportunities to assemble strategic land positions and their underlying resources through joint ventures and acquisitions.

The drilling system:

·        Has received praise from environmental and grassroots groups for its unobtrusive nature.

·        Provides a rapid return on investment through accelerated recovery periods and low infrastructure costs.

·        Includes a drainage network that spans over 1,400 acres of coalbed from one well site, allowing it to intersect multiple coal seams.

·        Enables gas recoveries of 80 to 90 percent in two to four years from a single well.

·        Handles simultaneous relocation of sub-surface water to minimize surface disposal.

·        Can accommodate both over and under-balanced down-hole drilling

NCE operations are focused on unconventional reservoirs in three geographically concentrated areas: the Appalachian, Arkoma, and Fort Worth Basins. Unconventional reservoirs (or "resource plays") are accumulations of hydrocarbons known to exist over a large aerial expanse and/or thick vertical section. When compared to conventional plays, they typically have a lower geological and/or commercial development risk and lower average decline rate. NCE focuses on coalbed methane, shale gas and tight gas sand reservoirs which make up the principal unconventional resource plays in the world. Our properties have an average reserve life exceeding 20 years plus extensive development and exploration potential.
